What’s the difference between a donation made to Camp Dainava versus a donation made to the Dainava Foundation?

Donations to Camp Dainava are used for camp operations and capital improvements. Capital improvements may consist of either planned improvements to ensure Camp Dainava’s future or immediately necessary improvements due to end-of-useful life of an existing operational item. For example, planned improvements include new bathrooms, new floors, new LED lighting, etc. Immediately necessary improvements related to end-of-useful life may include things like new roofs, new furnaces, new dishwasher, etc. Camp Dainava Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit with the goal of maintaining and growing an endowment for the long-term financial support of Camp Dainava. Contributions to the Camp Dainava Foundation are invested in a well-diversified portfolio. The earnings from this portfolio will continue to fund yearly capital improvement projects at Camp Dainava. The Camp Dainava Foundation, under the guidance and direction of its Board of Directors, monitors this endowment to ensure that when needed, these funds will be available to sustain the campground for many future generations of campers.
